The Glass Harmonica on CD
A Sonic Gem for the Anniversary
Rubin und Schwan
To mark its 30th stage anniversary, the Vienna Glass Harmonica Duo presents its new CD, Rubin und Schwan.
When Christa and Gerald Schönfeldinger perform works by W. A. Mozart, Joseph Lanner, Aaron Copland, Jörg Widmann, Maria Theresa v. Paradis… as well as, for example, a Turkish traditional on these two extraordinary instruments, you will experience a mysteriously solemn and, in the best sense of the word, an otherworldly atmosphere.
The duo’s virtuosic and creatively joyful interpretations are rooted in a broad musical spectrum that allows the soothing and carefully curated repertoire to blossom perfectly. Fascinating.

driving glasses diving - DVD
The arrival of glass music in the present.
A colorful wreath of the unheard, resonating long after.
The concert film ‘driving glass’ showcases the full spectrum of a new understanding of the glass harmonica – from Mozart’s Adagio KV 617a to Josef Lanner’s Ländler, from Satie’s Gnossienne to a playful homage to the Pink Panther. The ethereal silence of Hildegard von Bingen and the meditative depth of Arvo Pärt also find their place here – pieces that naturally adapt to the glass harmonica.
A film full of timbres that touch and linger.
