Christa Sch\u00f6nfeldinger not only elevated the partially preserved historical playing techniques to a new level but also expanded the performance on the glass harmonica with new techniques and contemporary musical aesthetics to achieve unprecedented sonic possibilities.<\/p>

Her repertoire ranges from standard works for glass harmonica (Mozart, Reichardt, R\u00f6llig, Schulz) to orchestral and operatic literature (Hasse, Donizetti, R. Strauss, Saint-Sa\u00ebns), and numerous arrangements from classical to avant-garde. Her interpretations inspired contemporary composers to create new works, such as J\u00f6rg Widmann’s piece “Armonica,” premiered at the Int. Mozart Week Salzburg with the Vienna Philharmonic under Pierre Boulez.<\/p>

Numerous invitations as a soloist and chamber musician have led her to the opening of the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, Musikverein Vienna, Salzburg Festival, Int. Mozart Week Salzburg, PROMS Festival Royal Albert Hall, Schleswig-Holstein Festival, Carinthian Summer, Int. Haydn Days Eisenstadt, Philharmonie Berlin, Dresden Music Festival, Bayreuth, Warsaw Autumn, Warsaw Philharmonic, Dresden Philharmonic, Kennedy Center, Suntory Hall Tokyo, among others.<\/p>
